Lorena Bobbit was the spurned wife of John Wayne Bobbit who figured she'd stop hubby from giving away the child maker by cutting it off and toss it out the window. Luckily it was cold out so it was recovered and replaced, but it didn't work the same, however he gained fame and some pay checks via Howard Stern who applauded him and demeaned Lorena.

Though what she did was indeed criminal and would probably have placed anyone with darker skin shade and "wrong" race in prison for a long time, Lorena was never punished. Instead she did 45 days in a nut house and set free.
